Default A Challenge to Liberals from Jaxmike

[ QUOTE ]
No matter how accurate you are, or how much sense you make, the leftists on this forum are too stupid, stubborn, and arrogant to agree with you. They want a strong Politburo and Big Brother knows best...

Why, to show liberals how silly they look, of course!

What? A challenge to write posts that are as nonsensical as they are paranoid? I reckon this challenge shall go uncontested. That is unless you'd like to challenge him warlockjd.

I am for national health care, and if that makes me a socialist, so be it. I am very far to the left of the so-called 'Democratic' Party.

What struck me about this post was the Big Brother reference. Seems to me that it is the right that has brought us the most legislation that is 'Big Brotherish'.

Quick examples: The 'War on Drugs,' The Patriot Act, their immediate smearing of the character of any dissenters, etc.

And yes, I 'enjoy' using the 'pseudo' quotation marks.

The right and left have probably brought on an equal amount of big government legislation. The right-wingers probably bring about the "Big Brother" aspect more, and the leftists the "nanny state."

What's interesting is that a Republican President along with a Republican Congress brought us much closer to nationalized health-care with the passing of the prescription drug plan. Anyone who thinks Republicans are fiscally conservative is sadly mistaken.

Um....not sure I agree

Most countries pool all their 'Medicaid equivalent' programs and use the combined buying power to negotiate cheap drug prices for everyone in the program.

A major part of the prescription bill specifically made this illegal in the U.S. Our taxpayers pay much higher prices for our prescription recipients than do their Canadian or Australian equivalents because of this clause.

This is significantly more of a subsidy to corporate drug makers (at the cost of the electorate) than any sort of socialized medicine bill.
