Does villian have a 9 here?
Pretty early so no reads, she doubled up somehow, but I was surfing the forum when she did.
Should I have folded the turn? Should I fold at all? Should I raise at any time? #Game No : 2552006488 ***** Hand History for Game 2552006488 ***** NL Texas Hold'em $20 Buy-in + $2 Entry Fee Trny:14926810 Level:1 Blinds(10/15) - Wednesday, August 17, 18:35:29 EDT 2005 Table Table 13872 (Real Money) Seat 2 is the button Total number of players : 10 Seat 5: nynarc ( $800 ) Seat 10: likmybeanbag ( $800 ) Seat 2: BigDove20 ( $165 ) Seat 4: sirdeano ( $800 ) Seat 3: CASHALL ( $1675 ) Seat 6: kramer_c ( $800 ) Seat 9: mlphar ( $800 ) Seat 7: aj_71 ( $785 ) Seat 1: srpep ( $785 ) Seat 8: albeanster ( $590 ) Trny:14926810 Level:1 Blinds(10/15) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to kramer_c [ Js Jh ] nynarc folds. kramer_c raises [55]. aj_71 folds. albeanster folds. mlphar folds. likmybeanbag folds. srpep folds. Generally, raising the turn is a very good thing. It allows you to freeze opponent up on the river, it gives you more information, it doesn't let your opponent hit his 6+ outs.
With the huge pot on the turn, you need to take that down. I agree with Karak. Shove turn. |

Re: Does villian have a 9 here?
I don't really think that the hand is so simple as being an easy turn push. Reads would be nice.
I personally think that the turn is push / fold. Unless the villain is especially tricky, I could actually (gasp) fold the turn. Her check / call with the BB left to act behind her could easily mean that she was trying to get an overcall from BB. Now she leads out on the turn... I'd be lying if I said that I knew if you were ahead here or not. I really don't think that folding at this early stage and keeping a healthy stack would be so terrible. The thing is, your stack is not deep enough to "raise for information". If you're wrong, you'll get your information when all you chips slide over to the SB. Make a read and stick with it. Calling the turn sucks though. If you think she's got you beat, fold. Otherwise, push. |
