Even if your floorman is honest and straight it just looks wrong to see the guy who makes decions taking tokes from players. The dealers are performing a mechanical function, not making decisions which are sometimes judgment calls. If the dealer is fixing the deck in collusion with a player, it would be prearranged and not related to tipping. (If the dealer boxes the deck and cuts with one hand, it is almost impossible to fix the deck). Arguably, if the dealer is relating the action to the floor, who didn't witness the incident, he might favor a big tipper, but it's pretty remote.
Big Tipper: "His bet went past his cards" Dead Beat: "Not" Dealer to floor: "hummnahummnahummmna" Appearances are important to newcomers who see that the regulars know everyone.

And sure enuf the cut almost naturally falls there. And when JC says "dealer wtf you doing?" when I call for a setup, and point out the oversized card within the middle of the deck. Just what do you think he's gonna do or say? Not a god dam thing! thats when he stfu. And if I can feel it, surely a mechanic can do it much more subtly. I have also seen a recently (within last 30 months) deceased card room manager box and cut the deck (1 handed cut) and pop the ace of spades off the top every time.
