where I'm at: doggie paddling at 1/2 limit HE full ring

where I'm going: winning 5/10 and 10/20 limit player - then reasess.

what's next: I'll need to learn how to beat 1/2 six max before I get to 3/6 full.

My best plan may be to go to 2/4 full (since I'm almost rolled), then .50/1 6-max to get my preflop game in order, then 1/2 six max, then 3/6 full.

alternatively, I could just drop to .50/1 6 max for 10k hands now, then 1/2 six max, then 2/4 full, then 3/6 full.

Where I'm at: Trying to prove to myself that I'm a winning player at the .25/50 and .5/1 levels in HE. Thought I was, learned that I had been running well (and was way way way underbankrolled), dropped down, crushed .05/.10 for a while. Did a few bonuses. Now I am further building/playing by bonusing. I also play limit STTs at Stars. (And I freeplay 2-7 lowball at Ultimate Bet...which is really fun...if you haven't tried it you should!)

Where I'm going: I just started 6 max (I'm one of those people that has to be told something over and over) and will probably work on that for the next little while.

What's next: Some day I would like to play as high as 2/4 HE online, but I will probably take a break before that and experiment with NL.

Guruman,

I was in a similar spot about a month ago. I was advised to start playing 1/2 6max rather than drop to .5/1 due to the rake and quality of play not being much different. Playing 6 max is recommended before going to 2/4 full. Be sure and read the baby steps to 6max thread.

Where I'm At: .50/1, reading SSH and re-reading SSH/fixing leaks. Grinding to build my bankroll($700 so far)

Where I'm Going: Ill re-read SSH again, then ill go through my homemade leak list correcting majority of them.then have my PT stats checked. Then ill read HEFAP and all the other superb advanced books on poker as i move through 1/2 and upwards.

What's Next: Grinding, and moving to 1/2.

Where I'm At: 1/2 6 max graduate. Switching between 2/4 6 max on stars and 3/6 on party. Too early to declare myself a winning player at either, though I'm feeling confident.

Where I'm Goin: As far as my skill, or lack thereof, takes me. I don't really have a "I want to be a world renowned poker player" dream, just a "I really enjoy playing, and the more money I can make in my spare time playing poker, the better" dream I would like to add NL tourneys to my skillset, since it's just so popular (ie - fishfest) and must be a veritable goldmine for those who excel.

What's Next: A couple months at party 3/6 and then up to 5/10 and then 10/20 and then blah blah blah. Try to enter a NL multitable tourney once a week.

Paxo - stud looks interesting, but have you considered trying omaha first? It's a little closer to holdem, but it feels like a whole new game. I've played that some in the nano-limits on stars and it's fun for a good change of pace.

Why not just stick with Hold em and move up the ladder?

Your SSHE book is impressive! How many times have you read it?

[/ QUOTE ]
The whole thing about seven times, with various sections up to five more. I'm known to quote it at parties to impress girls.

Haha classic move! Though not a very successful one.

Did you buy SSHE used or wear it out?

Have you considered making a small book review of all the hold'em books you have? We've mostly all read HoH, TOP, HFAP, and SSH (for abbreviation explanation, make a guesstimation) I'd like to know how good are the other not-so-well-known books on hold'em. Are they worth getting?
