To threadjack; has anyone seen the mythbusters where Tori tries to jump over a wagon on a bike? It's one of the funniest damn things I've seen on tv. I wish I could find a video.

Will do. I have just the camera:


The board I had was identical to the one below: solid, flat, and very slick due to its lacquered finish (those green stripes aren't gripping tape, they're painted on).



It had rock-hard clay wheels and fairly steerable trucks as pictured below: (you hit a tiny rock and the board stopped cold. I wonder if urethane wheels brought an end to this problem?)



Something I just noticed while searching around are today's "spring" trucks, which must make getting airborne a breeze:
