Default 7/8b hand 4

Completely standard? (I want to bet 4th to get out seat 4 and if he wants to risk getting whipsawwed that is fine? As opposed to check raising to knock him out, which could result in some heavy jamming or, shudder, check calling.)

Do you gain much by knocking out seat 4?

You're not likely to get seat 4 out on 4th with just a bet even though he bricked. To cold-call the double raise on 3rd, he must have a good hand. & now the pot is big. To get rid of him, you need to c/r 4th.Then, if they both check behind, you can bet 5th & lose him because you have kept the pot small & there are less cards to come. But it's not worth it. I would just bet 4th for value, myself. On 6th, I would have bet out, just in case he only had a pair of 5's.
