Default Isolating question

Paradise 2/4. UTG who just took a beat and is tilting raises, leaving him 1 dollar on the table. Folded to you in the CO.

You have A2o, button is tight, no read on the blinds. 3-bet to isolate?

I voted "Bad" before noticing the "leaving one dollar on the table."

Yeah, it's fine.

Is it really worth betting $6 to "maybe" win $5 ??

He's got $5, plus $3 in dead money from the blinds (which is why you 3-bet).

You're risking $5 if the blinds don't call to win $8 on what is very likely a 60/40 shot.

I like this play better when you've got a read on the blinds, but most blinds will fold to two cold preflop.

pot's too small to bother with here. if it were a NL game and he was tilting and pushed all-in, maybe i'd think about it, but his stack would have to be bigger than a little more than one bb. don't chase the small pots, just wait til he reloads to go after him!

I disagree. The pot is small, but you don't have to put much money into it. You should stay away from putting too many bets into small pots sure, but in this case, if you make the blinds fold, you don't have to worry about future bets. You've got a guy all-in and you probably are better than 50% to win the pot. Just because there isn't much money in there doesn't mean you should turn down a EV+ opportunity.

in addition to all this -

even if he does happen to win this pot,
he'll probably tilt away his $11 from this hand..

I say you just better than a coin flip. If you are quite sure the blinds are tight, do it, do it.

Peace,
