Default Overbet the Pot - Horrible results....

FIRST - I'm NOT being results orienteed... I know I was a huge favorite in the following situations and I'm happy with my play... I'm more interested in the theories, pros, and cons of overbetting pots.

Deep into the money in a 2,500 person PP $10 tournament. Need to double up to make a legitimate run to the big money.

KQ [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] under the gun.

Raise 4xs blinds ($500 - $1000)

Me - $19,000.00

Villian calls $4,000.00 $23,000 left... has been playing weird... has very liberal starting hand requirements.

Flop Q, 9, 3 two hearts.

I push all-in... A) I think he will call with anything B) I don't want to beat myself up when/if I see and scare card on the river.

He calls with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] hits and Ace and won. Whatever... his luck... my miss-fortune

I'm happy with my play... but I don't know if I'm setting myself up for horrendous bad-beats by making weird over-beats.

It seems like overbeating is a great way to accumlate chips from weaker hands in these huge on-line tournaments...

But when it back-fires... it backfires hard...
