Dead Kings
What's your 3rd st. play? I didn't want to raise this and make a big pot early. The table was pretty loose and fun.

Re: Dead Kings
This is a tough one, but i still like a raise. This is mostly because of the ace's smooth call. He cant be scared of there being a pair of kings on board because it would involve the last 1 in the deck. He probably thinks that all kings will fold because they are so cheap, unless they have a drawing hand. I do not believe that he had a big hand there. I like a raise there to drive the other kings out of the hand, probably the 2 and maybe the 4. If you get re raised by the ace then you can muck and be happy you found that out w/ only 1 small bet.\
Just a thought, but I'm not that good. 6/4 |

But this is coming from a guy who just started playing stud and only plays 1/2 right now |

Re: Dead Kings
I think a case can be made for any of the three options, but I like raising the least. If you're not going to lose anyone by raising, that kills your main reason for doing so. Folding a dead hand in a multi-way pot can't be too far wrong. When I get really confused, though, I call and see what happens.

Re: Dead Kings
I call and hope to catch some scare cards and be ready to get out early if it looks my opponents catch good.
BTW if I was seat 3 I wouldn't be limping if i intended to play. |

[/ QUOTE ] Andy, This pretty much sums up my stud existence right now Seriously though, with the Ace smoothcall, I would call. I think a pair of kings even dead is worth seeing 4th street on the cheap. |

Re: Dead Kings
The correct play is to fold. But since Kings are well......kings, I'd have probably called and seen how fourth street played out. A good example of a flaw in my game where I "know the correct play" but cant bring myself to always "make the correct play".
