2,3,8,9 because i can clearly see everyone at the table from there. 1 and 10 are clearly the worst as they don't see each other at all and seats in front make it hard to see people who sit on the same side.

I like 5/6 because I don't have to stand up to make sure I'm reading the board properly, something I have to do from the end seats. Plus, I'm a little guy, so I don't have much trouble fitting in unless I'm crammed between two big fat guys.

4/7 suck. Neck cramps.

Without prior knowledge of the players at the table
all seats are equal with respect to your position against other players.
However there was a certain casino I played at where if
I was first to sign in, then I was forced to pick my seat first.
I would pick my seat to be the one most difficult to get to.

This was seat 10. Seats 1,2,3,4,5 were easiest to get to because the table sat diagonally out from the wall with seat 10 against
the wall. These seats would be filled by rocks and novice players. They
would all be on my left. Then late arriving aggressive players
would end up on my right. I was very happy.

If I have a choice of seats at a partially filled table I'll try to sit to the left of the biggest stack I can and hope for the best.

But alas, usually there is only one open seat left.

Seat 1, of course.

If the dealer is a hot female you can feel up her legs.

I like the 3 or 8 seats....in a pinch, the 2/9 or 4/7 seats will do.

I like these seats because I can usually see everyone at the table from them, and there is usually more leg room.

I would like to change my answer to "the seat that I can see cops entering the room from".
