You play limit, don't you?

Edit: That said, the difference between folding and calling is probably pretty minor.

nah, not a limit player by trade.

but a pair + overcard and backdoor draw against a really weak-ass continuation bet and a passive call of the c-bet. and we have position throughout the hand? i call.

hah, but hey, you're the pooh-bah. teach me.

Ooh, I'm scared by the responsibility. Honestly, calling isn't bad. Generally speaking, I dislike passively calling small bets into big pots, I prefer to either raise or fold. With a bet and a call on a coordinated board, Hero isn't strong enough to put in a proper raise without being committed with a marginal hand, so I would generally fold.

As far as the pot odds go, if I recall correctly from my limit hold'em days, a 5 out draw needs 8.2-1 to take a card off. 5-1 immediate isn't enough to justify a call. We probably have the implied odds to continue, this just isn't a spot where I'd typically do so for the reasons outlined above. It really doesn't matter very much though, to be honest.

Thanks for the responses. Not alot of thought really goes into my poker game at the moment. But I'm trying to work through some old HHs looking for frequent mistakes and places where I can improve, so getting these critques should be a huge help. Malachi- why raise pre flop?

Hey Malachii, do you raise every Axs with limpers ahead of you? Do you overlimp with any of them preflop to try and trap lower flushes?

I have been overlimping A9s-A2s to try and trap lower flushes, but it's worked like once in 15k hands it seems.
