January goals, hmmm...

Beat 50NL 6max for $1000, thus building my roll to $2500.
Take a shot at $100NL 6max.
Remove the "weak" from "weak tight" without becoming a calling station or a LAG.
Pay more attention to reading hands.
Play at my local casino's 1/3NL $300 buy-in and beat it.

guys, please remember that a good goal is specific and measurable. If you can't measure it, then it's probably not a good goal, i.e., "don't tilt" or "don't be a LAG" are not good goals.

Perhaps "sit out for 5 minutes after losing a pot > 80BB to help me control tilt" would be a better goal.

With that said. My goals for January:
Play 2k hands of 100NL 6max to get me comfortable playing 6max.
Post 5 hands to this forum.
Post 10 poker-related responses to this forum.

final table of a large field 1500+.

Maintain 6BB/Hr at .50/1
Venture more into 1/2, get more comfortable, 4BB/Hr+
Post 3 hands/week.

wtf?

Variance? How would this ever be a logical goal in one month's time?

10K more hands at 100NL
move to 200NL and play 10K hands
Play a large tourney every week or at least once every two weeks (as it is now ive played one in like 5 months)
Post a hand every day.
Reread TOP and read HOH

Its a goal every month. Thanks for asking though.

Plus, i usually play the 40K most nights on PP which always has more than 1500.

Right but having a "goal" in an MTT just seems silly. It should be play as strong as you can for the duration. 10 cashes with no final table may be better than 1 final table and 0 other cashes.

Unless your goal really isn't to make money but simply to make a final table? I don't see how that could be +EV though.

And what if you make the final table with 33% of the C.I.P. and then donk them all off and bust ASAP? Is that really an accomplished "goal"?

Sure I'm nitpicking. but I'm bored.
