Default Very interesting Party 15/30 KQ hand

Playing a little Party 15/30 this morning for a change. I'm feeling a little annoyed because CSCO is down .54 this morning and I have 80,000 shares in my portfolio.

Anyway, reasonable playing MP open-raises. I have KQ on the button. Call, fold, or 3-bet?

You are down 43200 on CSCO, so you should definitely 3-bet, and bet and raise at every opportunity in this hand. You need to get some of your money back. The most you can lose on this hand is $360, and being down 43560 is no worse than being down 43200 on an emotional level, but winning the hand would make you feel a lot better.

When I'm annoyed about other things, I just 3-bet because I figure there isn't much difference between being stuck $43,200 and $43,245. Then I call my broker and demand good news. I don't like it when they go down.

Preflop question? Seems a little pedestrian - what's the catch?

Well I dunno. I think it depends on specifically if you have seem him raise KJs, 109s 77 type hands in this position.

If so, I think you could call - try to bring the blinds along and hope to spike a king or queen and value raise the flop or turn.

I prefer to 3 bet, get it headsup hoping for all those flops that miss you both - or flops that come Ace high and allow you to take it down with a bet on the flop.

I don't fold in this spot very often without convincing player info.

OTOH...You still own over $1.3 M in CSCO; therefore, this event should have no impact on your play.
However, I treat KQ on the button is like Intel in 1984 -- buy and buy a lot. Therefore, take TimM's line.
