Nice hand. I play it the same.

I like a flop bet better than a check-raise because I don't know where I can expect a bet from and the pot is only 4 handed. We can't defend against the big draws anyway.

Leading the turn is very nice as a signficant portion of the time you'll find the flop cap coming from some big draw. (Some players will also take the free card play to its extreme and cap hoping for the free card).

River check-call is good. You're probably beat but I think the pot is probably big enough to merit a fold. You'll see a lone J or diamonds (or possibly both) often enough here.

Not when it looks like it's going to be 3 or 4 handed... am I missing something? I don't know when I'd ever raise this hand pre-flop except on a pure steal.

Without MP2's limp, I would. But I think once he's in, and being OOP, I'd just limp too.

Eh, I raise a lot of hands in this spot in the name of FE. Too many, maybe.

My main problem is that any opponent who limps in in late middle position is likely a fishy calling station and will not be folding that much anyway. I prefer having a hand that has some modicum of showdown value, like a K or something.

Given his flat call on the turn, I pretty much put him on a draw. Unfortunately, it was the straight draw, and not the flush draw, so when the 7 fell i was beat (he had j9); anyway, good to see I seem to have played the hand right

I just played a bitch of a session (KK cracked by A10 - that kind of session), but I couldn't see many hands I played badly.

Oh well, that's poker

I like it. The turn is kind of a "teeth gritter", because you pretty much have to bet it, for fear of giving a free card.

Just to explore further, what are you guys doing against a turn raise? My first thought is calling and folding the river unimproved.

I'd check-raise the flop and go from there.

If he 3-bet, i'd be tempted to check-raise a safe turn card.
