Daniel Negreanu aka Rick\" Wildthing\" Vaughn
Everytime I read Daniel's blog , I can't help but think of the show "Major League 2". Rick Vaughn changes who he is to get endorsements, get on tv, etc.... and forgets who he is and what got him to this point!! Daniel go back to being the best tournament poker player.
I know everyone has to cash in on their fame, but from a poker players standpoint go back to the game. |

You don't have to tell DN what to do.
He knows his priorities and he knows what he's doing. |

Re: Daniel Negreanu aka Rick\" Wildthing\" Vaughn
Good comparison. I don't have a problem with DN cashing in. Hell, I just read that Esfandiari got a book deal so cashing in seems to be the rage.
The issue for Daniel appears to be that the more he focuses on side interests the more his game suffers. I think he is smart enough to realize this and has made decisions he thinks are best for him and his family. If that is the case, best of luck. I'd like to see Cardplayer drop his blog from their home page and replace it with a blog from another player who will actually discuss poker more often than promoting their own business ventures. Beyond that, I hope Daniel is happy with whatever he is doing. |

I'm sorry if it seems as though I'm bashing Daniel!!!
Wasn't meant that way at all. I have been reading his blogs from the start. That is how I got my screenname "SlowplayingSeto" from one of his early stories. I hope he is a happy and everyone has to cash in on any oppurtunity to better themselves or their bank account. I just really miss the free spirited poker player!!! |

Re: Daniel Negreanu aka Rick\" Wildthing\" Vaughn
his articles in cardplayer are still top notch
this week's on conditional probability is very good. compared to hellmuth's articles, negreanu's are genius. |

Re: Daniel Negreanu aka Rick\" Wildthing\" Vaughn
How on earth can someone quote a life lesson from a movie as bad as "Major League 2"?

Hellmuth has the only transparent chip case on the market. Now that's something to behold!

[/ QUOTE ] He's not playing great poker any more, that's for sure. Even when he does play he's busting out quickly because of commitments the next day so he wanted to get a big stack or not bother. yada, yada, yada. This is self-delusional - getting in the excuses for failure before even competing almost guarantees failure. His heart hasnt been in any recent tournaments. It's not even as if he wants to spend the time with his new wife, its on these lame endorsements and poker video games. Why would ANYONE ever want to play a poker video game as opposed to just playing poker? I preferred the old DN who announced he was going to win the WPT $15K before it even started and then delivered. |
