Bottom set on 3 flush flop decision
BB is sLA-P the first 2 limpers are LPP and the CO is a TAG
Pre-Flop has 3 limpers to me on the button w/ 33, I limp, SB folds BB raises, All call 5 to the flop for 10.5 SB Flop 3h-9h-Ah BB bets 2limpers call, TAG Raises, Hero... I am pretty sure the TAG has a big heart and is pushing his equity edge. Do I CC and raise a safe turn, or do I 3 bet now and do what I can to protect my hand. My choice is to re-raise the flop, but after thinking about it, my edge is much bigger on the turn if a non heart falls. A case can be made for waiting for the turn. What do you guys think? |

Re: Bottom set on 3 flush flop decision
3bet and get those limpers to call a couple more bets. Your equity edge is biggest.

Re: Bottom set on 3 flush flop decision
Yea, thats what I just thought of. The LPP's aren't folding a big heart whether it be for 2 or 3 bets, might as well get as much out of them as possible.

Re: Bottom set on 3 flush flop decision
Im smooth calling here for a couple of reasons. First I want the 2 limpers to call with an ace or a mid-range heart and I'm worried a 3-bet might fold them. Second, like you said your edge is a lot bigger on the turn if a non heart falls and I'd much rather make big hearts pay two big bets to see the last card. Also, the BB may just lead out on the turn if a non heart hits, assuming as you are that the CO has a big heart and is pushing his equity, giving you a chance to trap the entire field.
