Default Read my mind

Definately not "routine" play, and I expect to this will be flamed. But I'm curious if anyone can guess my thought process on this hand:

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
3 folds, Button calls, Hero raises, BB calls, Button calls.

Flop: (6 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, BB folds, Button calls.

Turn: (6.50 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button raises, Hero calls.

River: (10.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls.

Bit weak 87 is one of a few hands he might have.

3bet the turn if he does have 87 and caps you still could fill up on the river.

Edit: By the way, we don't care if you happened to make a great read this time. If you're not putting in more bets in these situations, you're leaving a ton of money on the tables. Sometimes you lose to the straight, but usually you win a larger pot than this one.

Besides the fact he might have 87, you're thinking he might have complete cheese and not call a 3-bet perhaps, where as if he is on air you win an extra river bet?

I still think you gotta 3-bet the turn. The majority of the time this is a worse hand, and when its 87 you have 10 outs. Even when he's bluff raising he might have a gutter or bottom pair and still peel one off after you 3-bet the turn, so you don't lose that extra bet.

Tons of hands he could play this way so the turn and river are both must raises. Considering the preflop action a lower set (or even an ace two pair) is much more likely than 87.

I hope, on the turn, you were thinking "button only has 1 BB left and I'm more likely to get it on the river"
