Default Rebuys and Add-ons Please Help

At what point in a rebuy tourney can you rebuy? do you have to have busted out first? What is an add-on? Never been in a rebuy / add on tourney and just wondering what they are.

Default Re: Rebuys and Add-ons Please Help

usually speaking.........

In a 'standard' rebuy tournament, one can rebuy when one's stack is equal to or less than the original starting chip amount. Should you lose all your chips in a hand and wish to continue playing, you may be eligible for a 'double rebuy', which is double the original stack amount for twice the cost.

An "add-on" is a term for another rebuy that is made available to ALL players, regardless of their stack size. This usually is done at the first break in a tournament.

In some tournaments, the cost of the add-on is a better value the the cost of the rebuy.

After this, there are no more rebuy/add-on's, and the tournament proceeds as a standard 'freeze-out' tournament (i.e., you bust out; you're gone).
