party 10/20 flopped flush
these arent my usual stakes, so my brain mightve been clouded. but IRC was buzzing and jay was running good so i figured id join in on the fun.
no reads, only my 1st or 2nd orbit Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (5 handed) pokerhand.org hand converter MP ($1218) Button ($2015.5) SB ($2638) Hero ($1880) UTG ($892.9) Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $10. 1 fold, MP calls $20, Button calls $20, SB (poster) completes, Hero checks. Flop: ($80) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, Hero checks, MP bets $70, Button calls $70, SB folds, Hero calls $70. Turn: ($290) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets $200, MP raises to $400, Button calls $400, Hero.. ? button's flat call confused me, and ive seen people do that with big draws in the past. perhaps hes got the A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or 10[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ... |

Re: party 10/20 flopped flush
Hero should have bet out or check raised the flop.

Re: party 10/20 flopped flush
I think you have to raise here.
And the only raise is ALL-IN, BABY! |

Re: party 10/20 flopped flush
Come on man...you GOTTA raise this flop!! You checked the flop and the thing you wanted to happen did, not only did someone bet, but there was a caller. What you did was basically slowplay the third nut flush with two other players. What if the board pairs? What if a heart comes off on the turn? Now your out of position and you can't call anymore bets. Get $300 in there on the flop CR and make the hand easy on yourself. People rarely give credit for flopped flushes anyway and you're still gonna get action from those hands that you have dominated like sets, two pair, and TPTK A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Why let them draw at the price that they set when you have flopped it? Not to mention the fact that there are so many cards that will kill your action on the turn and river even if neither of them has a heart or a set. So you could have them drawing dead and you let them off the hook if any heart falls, an overcard, or the board pairs. Don't play poker this way. Make a big CR on the flop and push hard on the non-heart turn.

Re: party 10/20 flopped flush
Does'nt a flop CR scream flush?
I dont know, I like leading much better than CR'ing, maybe because people just dont like to bet into me. I think the best way to play this hand is to lead flop and turn. The way it played out, the only option is All-in on the turn. |
