River Overcalls?
The table is usually quite tight, I was unsure whether to try and entice 2 overcalls or raise to get some action between a lower flush?
Ultimate Bet 1/2 Hold'em (6 handed) Preflop: Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. MP calls, Hero raises, Button calls, 1 fold, BB calls, MP calls. Flop: (8.50 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players) BB checks, MP checks, Hero bets, Button calls, BB calls, MP calls. Turn: (6.25 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players) BB checks, MP checks, Hero checks, Button checks. River: (6.25 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players) BB checks, MP bets, Hero raises, Button folds, BB folds, MP folds. Re: River Overcalls?
I don't think there's anything to suggest that that BB or Button are calling for 1 bet. Bad luck MP folded to the raise but I'd just take the probable 2BB on the river and be happy with them.
In general, I would say you want to go for overcalls if you aren't sure you have the bettor beat. Could be wrong on that. |

Re: River Overcalls?
I'd raise here too. Since the button checked the turn last to act, he doesn't have anything good. If he has a lower flush, he'll call 2 or even 3bet but he'll fold anything else. The BB we can't really count on for anything. He didn't bet the river after the turn was checked thru so he doesn't have anything strong. He may call 1 bet on the river with a weak 1 pair, but not enough to go for the overcall. MP should be calling the raise almost all the time. It's really not even that bad that everyone folded because you won a big pot without a showdown.
Also, you should post 1/2 hands in the micro forum. |
