Gambling with GBD (Great Britain Pounds)
Does anyone have an idea of how this may be done, if you don't live in Britain, that is. I'd prefer doing business with some sort of internet mediary who could take deposits from my Canadian bank account and do the conversions for me, much like Neteller does for me currently with $USD.

[/ QUOTE ] Not sure if this is what you mean, but... You could just play at the GBP tables at one of the Cryptos. One of the problems with these tables is that the rake maxes out at 3P instead of $3, so you basically pay 75% more rake on every hand. Acme |

So having almost the double max rake should hurt a player at medium/high level. Of course that could be offset by worse opponents etc. |

These are very similar limits (where the GBP table translates to USD 1.75/3.5)...yet the GBP tables will have roughly 75% more rake. So...you stand to win/lose less (due to slightly lower limit) while you pay more rake. Rake is only irrelevant in comparing limits when the rake is pretty much constant for the limits. If the rake is significantly higher for one limit than the other, rake is very relevant IMO. Acme |

Re: Gambling with GBD (Great Britain Pounds)
I play a lot of Crypto pound games and with MY PT stats - the higher you go the worse the rake is - completely opposite of what you would think. At least in the £1/2 to £2/4 level.
The percentage of pot taken at 1/2 is much lower the it is at 2/4. Pounds or dollars |

Re: Gambling with GBD (Great Britain Pounds)
the rake is the same percentage up the the same # of units.
a 54 unit pot with 3 units taken out of it is still 51units, in both dollars and pounds. edit: do all your calculations in BBs and you wont have a problem |

You would if all pots had the rake capped. That doesn't happen, and in fact, it is rare to see a pot over $60, which is what it would take for the rake to stop being about 5% at both. |
