ok...
I've had a lot of my friends look at this hand and I recieved mixed reviews. Here's my logic... When i raised him on the flop, i was trying to see where my pair was at, and his flat call made me think that he may have an overpair (88-QQ) and be afraid of a set or he may have a flush draw or maybe just overcards..AK AQ. I haven't played too many hands with this guy so i can't be too certain about my read. On the turn, when he checked i thought that i might as well keep the pot size down if he did infact have a higher pair so i checked behind. When the As hit the river, and he checked to me i was very confident he didn't hit a flush nor did he pair the A or i think that this player would have bet. So i figured that he would still check any pair that was beating me here, so if i bet like i hit the flush or like i was playing a set, he would have to fold. Thoughts?

-i think if the river wasn't a spade but it was another card 7 or under, i would make another bet (bluff?) at it since that would put a 4 card straight on board or give me a set, which i think would either give me a winner, or make it difficult for him to call with an OP
