I believe Wynn publicity is probably the #1 reason DN's doing this.

How much is he down ? Is Daniel N an idiot ? I don't understand why he's risking like 4 million on some stupid HU match.

It's a show to promote the casino.

Both great players and both great people IMHO.

I may be wrong but I think DN just beat Barry in PLO and is leading in the next match. It's getting more interesting.

How are you guys finding out the results of these matches so quickly? Is there any place that I can find some live updates or something?

...he ethier has to crush the tournament tour constantly (highly unlikely)

Umm he did crush the tourney circuit consistently, look at his results for 2004 if u can manage to take your eyes off of barry's penis for a minute.

By consistantly, he means repeating that performance year in and year out, very unlilkely.

Hearing Barry's comments about tournament players, I never thought he was talking about Daniel, I thought he was talking more of the Phil Hellmuth types.

From Barry's site on Daniel

Aggressiveness: 7
Looseness: 7
Short-handed: 8
Limit: 8
No-limit: 8
Tournaments: 9
Side games: 7
Steam control: 7
Against weak players: 8
Against strong players: 7

Best game: Omaha Eight-or-better
Weakness: Efforts to balance his life lessen his money-making ability

Daniel has become a consistent winner at the $1000-$2000 level in a limited side-game schedule. Daniel’s won the 2004 Card Player Player of the Year award and the 2004 WSOP Player of the Year award – pretty impressive.

His light-hearted nature, good writing, and accessibility to poker enthusiasts have made Daniel one of the most popular players. Daniel is often mentioned as the top player by newsgroup posters. In the past, Daniel occasionally showed questionable judgment speaking his mind, but the grounding effect of the relationship with his fiancée Lori has helped him make better decisions.

Sounds like he does respect Daniel as a cash game player - but he probably feels that himself and Chip Reese and a few others are on a higher plain.
