I haven't seen a music video in 10 years. The first one I thought of was Thriller, but I'm sure there's something else out there these days that's better.
My personal favorite was Springsteen's Brilliant Disguise. I liked its use of a live vocal track and its simplicity: Bruce in a kitchen (on a soundstage) with a guitar, playing and singing the song as the camera slowly moves in tighter and tighter until all you can see is a closeup of his face and then just his eyes as he sings the haunting final verse. "Tonight our bed is cold, I'm lost in the darkness of our love God have mercy on the man who doubts what he's sure of."
