Default 2/4 B&M, set over set

Hey everyone, my first post here, been lurking for a while. Great site. This is a hand that occured in Tunica that has been bothering me, just thought I'dpost it here and see what everyone thought.

The table was pretty tight, almost everyone seemed to know what they were doing. However, it was pretty passive pre-flop and most hands had about 5 or 6 players seeing the flop without a raise.

flatline (me) is in the CO, Real World(that was what we called the guy) was in UTG+2

5 people call pre-flop, flatline has (2d,2s)

Flop comes Qs, 9d, 2h

Its checked to me, I bet, Real World and 2 others call

Turn comes Kc

Its checked to me again, I bet, Real World Raises, I reraise, everyone else folds, Real World caps, I call

River comes Ah

Real World bets, I raise, he reraises, I call

I guess the title already revealed what happened, so I'll go ahead and say he had QQ

What is my mistake? I think maybe I should have just called the river, but isn't that really weak?

After he caps the turn, you don't want to raise the river.

He also could have had JT.

EDIT: I also don't think his river reraise is right either. If I had capped the turn and then been raised after betting the river I would be pretty concerned that a straight was out there.

I agree, I just thought I had him on KQ. Do you really think we could have had JT? Why cap with that?

Because it's the nuts and you are likely calling him on the river. If you mean that he wouldn't play JT in that position, I wouldn't count on that.

By the way, I added a comment to my original reply.

Flatline,

Welcome aboard. Some useful hints, next time include the limits.

I think you played it fine. I would have put him on AQ.

I wouldnt be raising the river. What do you think he's capping the turn with? What is he putting you on when you 3 bet?

These types of tables, that you described texture-wise, theyre generally not capping the turn with something that you can beat.
