Default Tax queries, etc.

There is debate in the Star Chamber about where questions and suggestions about Tax should should be posted.

I have suggested extending the Stock Market Forum to include questions and suggestions about Employment, (careers, jobs, self employment, etc.), and Tax. (It looks like a specific new Forum for Tax only is not on the cards.)

Others think the Zoo is the place for Tax posts.

Could you give an indication of your preference, please?

Any other appropriate comments are welcome in this thread.

Thank you.

You know, with everyone leaving the zoo, if the tax questions are put elsewhere, there will not be much to talk about

please put them in another forum. people come to this forum asking about tax credits and legal devices for lowering taxes and you get a thread full of monkeys screaming "JUST PAY YOUR TAXES!" it would be nice if the stock market forum grew into a finances/investing forum because there are alot of people here who have alot of money and no knowledge of what to do with it. taxes represent a gigantic portion of the ev in our gambling. if you can lower your taxes from 40% to 34% thats alot of money to the people here making 6 digits. we need more information on taxes and when tax threads are created we need more intelligent responders and less dim-witted patriots.

How bout a stickie in the zoo.

We are soon to be deluged by moronic tax questions again anyway.

Just as an aside, why include "employment", on a site focusing on poker?

It's supposed to be a broad term, covering careers, jobs, self employment, full-time poker-playing, etc. There are often posts about such subjects, scattered about the forums because they have no particular home to go to at the moment.

(And what's a Stock Market Forum doing here, too?!)

Same thing. There is no particular home for Tax posts. They pop up everywhere.

Personally, I don't see much direct correlation between Internet Gambling and Taxes. Many of the serious (read: "boring") strategy posters don't even look in at the Zoo, (think back to davidross's original zoo comment that named us!), so, unless the forum was renamed IG&T there would be hundreds if not thousands of 2+2 readers who would not think of looking for serious Tax information in the IG Forum.

Why, exactly can there not be a forum devoted to the miscellanous things a full time player has to deal with?

Like health insurance, taxes, etc.

There seems to be a general reluctance by the powers that be to open new forums. (There are quite a few, already, admittedly!). Perhaps it relates to concentration of readers per advert? I'm not privy to that core information.

It's "easier", (read: not quite as difficult), for the mods to try to get existing forums extended if traffic in a particular sphere is noticed. Later, perhaps the opening of a new forum in that field will become the route for expansion by 2+2?

Always make your post in what you think is the most appropriate forum. If the mod of that forum has a better idea of where it should go, (in his opinion), he should move it, and gradually a niche for similar posts should be created. (I hate all the monitor posts in the Zoo, but I don't move them because most people now think of the Zoo when they need information in that area.)

If SMET is created, then it would probably become the accepted forum for the types of post you mention. Some of the hardline current SM posters don't want the expansion I am proposing, perhaps for this very reason? Hence my poll to invite the opinions of the users.

We can still talk about how online poker is rigged and how we're through with this forum.
