Default Some smart place should figure out a way to profit from this

For example, start a fantasy baseball league and use the chips to buy players. For one of the smaller sites this kind of thing might make enough money to be worthwhile after registration fees or whatever. Lots of folks pay big bucks to play in these leagues so why not take advantage.

I still maintain, the people running these poker sites display an extreme poverty of imagination given the wonderful new toy they have at their disposal.

why are you so sure that this market does not exist only for the sole purpose of non-qualifying, possible colluders, dumpers and MINORS to have a way to get their grubs on some stars real money?

this is my only objection (and fears)

I not so sure. But then as a minor I played .25 cent poker from time to time just like millions of other american kids.
I don't share the industry's faux "concern" about minors becoming addicted to gambling. I think it's far worse to keep them sheltered until they're 21, and then unleashing them to the wolves, or rather casinos, like lambs to the slaughter. Plus gambling games are excellent ways to teach kids probability concepts. If it were up to me they'd devote the entire 7th grade math class to prob. and stats, and use dice and decks of cards as props. Instead, lots of folks get to "learn" at a roulette table.

so did i. i hosted home games at 12. however, my parents knew, we were playing against each other (children), and we were not undermining the rules of a gaming establishment. i fear less about the minors than i do the smarms.

$225 for play chips is NOT a minor buying them, the small auctions, maybe. this one, no. please put a hypothetical out there where $225 would be reasonable for a buyer to pay this? and don't gimme the line from the auction that says "don't let them run over you anymore.. be a high roller"

oh well. this has been discussed ad nasuem and if stars cared they would have addressed it.

ok, here's a plan i think we should do...

let's ALL toss our play money to an account (just like rJ was joking in that thread). then when we get enough to sell for hundreds, all the contributers get to play in a winner take all freeroll for the dough. i will personally host the ebay auction. all can xfer your play money chips to my account and i will handle everything.

let's build our own tourney with the new software and fund it with an ebay, stars play money chip sale.

who's in? is this ok ellis? jacob? dan? lee? do we have your blessing?

silence will be deemed affirmative.

Attention please!

The King himself has 1400 play chips (1000 in the original screenbox and 400 won by my 12 years old son )

Don't by-pass this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own some play money chips from the Zoo's aristocracy

Auction starts at 1000$
