Andy,

Your OP was "overly" misleading so I'm giving myself partial credit, I'll bet all three of my characters said something very similar about Vietnam.

Agree regarding ill-advised historical analogies and the folly of using simple-minded "good v evil" approaches to world issues and conflicts. If Iraq turns out all right, it won't be because of any fine strategy from Rumsfeld/Bush.

Most early pre-screened professional reviews of Munich were very negative, I wonder if it's the anti-Speilburg bias. Hope to see it when I get back since the reviews on this forum are good and it's an important topic.

Syriana sort of went over my head or maybe I was just tired, I'm going to 11:00 pm screenings these days.

Saw 'Good Night and Good Luck" on your rec and thought it was very well done. My cousin and I discussed it during Christmas dinner - besides the bigger issues both of us got a kick out of all the workplace smoking
