Default Irish Fans at WSOP

I was part of the Irish support for Andy Black at Binions, and despite his getting a bit p'eed off with Cardplayer over the non interview, he is one top guy who can be very proud of his performance on and off the table.

As for the fans, I don't know how he got us all in, but there were Irish supporters walking around sporting media badges and operating ESPN cameras. Unfortunately the guy who got in with a bar staff badge has been MIA since July 15. If you read this, come on home Finbar - your wife forgives you and you are now the father of a baby boy named Hachem...

The Aussies may have taken the loudness title with their well rehearsed "aussie aussie aussie" mantra - but there was no way they had anywhere near as many empty bottles under their seats.... , so we Irish are claiming the overall fan honours by a...fittingly...short straw.

I got the chance to fly the Irish flag with Andy and Eric Seidel, while the guy in the Harry Potter hat is well known Internet personality Bill Fillmaff - who was doing a nice sideline in "full of sh*t" t-shirts....

Cheers,

DesD.

I'm Irish too, and I was there.

But I was at the bar the whole time.

Phil Hellmuth has a thing for the Irish. In the cardplayer broadcast... "PLUS, he's IRISH, so that means..." - about 5 times.

I was an Andy Black supporter too. I was with the press and named the wireless network "Go Andy Black". I placed a must win bet with Mike Paulle, too. IMO, Andy Black was the best player at the final table - in part because of his great short handed skills.

I gave a mini CD of photos to some Irish fans - hope they made it over to the entire crew.

Hi EK,

You gave the CD to me...small world huh!

I dropped an email to Roy Brindley about forwarding it on to Andy. Roy came back to me yesterday as he's been on the road since coming back from Vegas, so the CD will be on its way to Andy shortly.

I believe the fans photo above came from the CD...nice job.

Regards,

DesD.

Joking aside, Phil did actually claim part Irish ancestory...but that could be a blarney stone thing...
