You had a bad flop and got all your money into a multi-way pot with what turned out to be the worst of it. pokenum -h qh qd - 6s 5s - 9h th -- 8s 9s 2c Holdem Hi: 903 enumerated boards containing 9s 8s 2c cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV Qd Qh 356 39.42 547 60.58 0 0.00 0.394 6s 5s 426 47.18 477 52.82 0 0.00 0.472 Th 9h 121 13.40 782 86.60 0 0.00 0.134 You were -EV in a 3-way pot, [/ QUOTE ] Err, don't want to distract from the OP's obvious and deep pain, but being 39% to win in a 3-way pot is actually +EV.... |

Re: 1-2 nl game is hard to beat
Yes. I stand corrected. I meant to point out that he got all his money in as the 2nd most likely to win in a 3-way pot. So, it's not a bad beat at all. In fact, if he had won, the 56s could have complained about a bad beat and I would have been more sympathetic.
Thanks for the correction. |

Re: 1-2 nl game is hard to beat
In any event, just rebuy. This really wasn't such a bad beat, just a bad flop, a big pot, and relatively short stacks. I don't think you played badly, but you really don't have anything to complain about.
[/ QUOTE ] Well said, sometimes [censored] just doesn't work out. And the raise pre-flop was a little extreme. |

Re: 1-2 nl game is hard to beat
[ QUOTE ]
I'm playing 1-2 nl and let me tell you about a bad beat that relates with how hard is to play this game for profit.I had pocket kings and raise to $20 in 5th position, nobody calls so i won $3.later with pocket AA raise to 7 and got two callers, in a flop with small cards went all in and won a pot $27.Finally my end came when with pocket Qs I raise to $20 because on my left was a very loose player that goes for every flush or straight draw all the time so I want him out but he calls and other player too so the pot is already $65, the flop is 892 with 2 spades and tryng to make this chaser py for the draw went all in for $85,they both call me and one has 65spades and the other 910 open ended the turn is a spade and river a blank and i lost broke. Is this a fair game or just a gambling experience? [/ QUOTE ] your play, brilliant in my opinion |
