hand vs pro $1000 WSOP NL

from today's $1000 NL event. the pro is someone i do not recognize but people at the table know him and have been talking about his $2000 limit win & bracelet at this year's WSOP. so he's probably good.

It is in the second level (25/50.) Stacks were 1000 to start with. I have 1425 and villian has about 2000.

He has been playing a little loose and a little aggressive, but nothing too crazy. he likes to raise and play in late position.

Folded to him in MP3, and he raises to 150. I hold 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] on the button and call. Everyone folds and it's heads up to the flop.

The flop is 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Villian bets 200.

What should I do?

Jam. I like your hand but future streets are likely to be hard to play. Folding is out of the question, I think, as is reraising a smaller amount. Your stack seems just about the right size for jamming.

I'd push,

you can't call and give free card because you might not be that much ahead. If you raise to T700 you will commit the rest of your chips, and give him an opportunity to call with implied odds of almost 4:1.

Raise to 600-800. Looks like a standard continuation bet with big cards, I think he'd bet more than 1/2pot with a big pair on that board.

I'd lean towards calling more if he were a weaker player as he'd be easier to play on later streets. However, since he's a dangerous player, I'd want to end the hand here.

Insta-push.

I'd say roughly 1/3 of the time your 4's are best, and half of the time your behind you make a straight to win. Add in some FE, and this is an easy push.

I didn't give the flush draw enough weight, your probably ahead more than I figured, but you will get drawn out on more. I still like a push for the added FE, but the swings will be wild. If you think you are significantly better than the table you can lay this down, but I'm pushing

Anyone fold here preflop? Not sure I like the call with these stack sizes. The money is too shallow.

I don't like your preflop call. Pocket fours is a tough hand to play. You're short stacked, relatively, so you don't have much set equity. Compounding the situation is
your opponent. Against tough opponents I don't like playing marginal hands.

On the flop I would either push or raise his bet 3-4x. On
second thought since my opponent is skillful and I assume
he can play all streets well, I'll push. I now get to see
the next two cards and I won't get outplayed. On a good day
he will either fold, I have the best hand, or my draw gets there.
