Default Audio Interview with Andy Black prior to final table

I got this from www.antesup.com , it's an Irish poker info website that follows Irish players. In it Andy explains his reasoning behind the KJ hand which I saw discussed here and heavily criticised. This might offer those who disagree with his play some insight into his reasoning.

Black something like "I put him on Tens. If I push, he can't call".

This is a big part of Black's poor play. Black entered the pot without raising after others had entered ahead of him. Tex Barch should be certain TT is good and only mildly concerned that he's up against two overcards.

Yep. Barch can correctly call with a wide range against Black's push based on the inconsistencies of his actions.

he made a good play, most players wouldn't put their tourney life on the line for a coin flip... even if it's the better part of the coinflip, at least not at that point in the tournament

you are aware that a coinflip means that he busts out of the tournament around 50% of the time? that isnt good

If I'm offered a 55% chance to become the chip leader late in a major tournament, I'm taking the shot.

I think black may have fallen victim to wishful thinking in that spot. If barch at TT, then the vast majority of the time, he would be playing them for set value against all those players.

No way barch is laying down TT or JJ or any other "big" pair he may have in that spot, especially not after black just called the raise prior to that.
