This was against The Awesomest. Who always seems to have a stack but loses it as well. Something didn't mesh right with the turn/river action. Thoughts.

What was your reasoning on the flop check/call? I think this is a great, great board to checkraise.

So you don't think that anybody would slowplay a 6 here? Because to me something does mesh right with this action-he has a 6 and is trying to get you to put some more money in. Once you bet the turn he says "great, he's giving me some bite-let's raise and hope he has an ace or something." I'm not saying this is definitely the case and obviously a bluff is possible but I wouldn't say that this line is at all inconsistent with having a 6.

Also, I would almost always check/call the river instead of betting and exposing myself to your situation.

There is no hand he has wtih a 6 in it, at least I don't think. I also think he would be the turn with the straight be it A or 6.

I don't know why you would think either thing. Until the turn, there's no reason why he can't have any hand. He raised preflop, put in a cont. bet and never had to call a raise so he could be making a move with 67 or AJ on the flop.
As for the turn, I guess this is read-dependent but I never rule out the possibility of somebody slowplaying a monster with position on the turn.

what does your flop check-call mean to him? what hands would you check-call this flop with? overpair? 4 + pair? 4x? could he possibly put in your range a set?

My calling range is probably straight, set, pair. I probably raise with a combo.

This is my biggest complaint with call here. Check raise looks more like 88 or soething with a 4.

So you think this is villain taking the chance that you don't have a straight in order to push you off a pair or a set? That's pretty ballsy.

I don't know. I mean I lead for the river, it looks weak, he is aggressive enough to sense that. He thinks for a while, then raises to 3000. Just seemed odd, I would think he would raise less with a nut hand.

I feel like an ace has to be this turn because most of the time a tight opponent has a set...
