I just played both this week.

Orleans is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better.

If you like fast luck based tourneys in a smokey dirty card room then go to sahara. The blinds rise faster then you can play sitting at 12 handed tables.

Orleans is slower blind strcture, and they have bounties (which I liked very much)Every time you knock someone out who is all in you get paid 10 bucks on the spot. I played here on friday and had NO CARDS and still managed to place 22nd out of 177.

Orleans is clean, friendly and more skill based then sahara.

I plan to regular this.

How does payouts for real life tourneys work? Do you fill out paper work? Or do you get cash on the spot?

There are several other ways to "knock someone out", but thats the only way I know to not cause a scene. I guess its also possible to put such a ridiculous bad beat on someone they quit or worse have a heart attack, thus knocking them out of the tournament, but they still have chips. I dont believe they pay a bounty for this.

On a more serious note, I found that they dont pay bounties at every tourney.

The Orleans is WAY better...The competition is stiffer, but the structure is much better...Most of my live tournament action is there.

Is the Orleans Limit or No-limit? How many re-buys? Add-on?

Going to LV this weekend and trying to decide whether to play Sahara or Orleans.

TIA,
Tank

never played at Orleans, but it HAS to be better than the Sahara's tourneys. I played there in April, and the tourney was 12 handed, with alternates. Not to mention the fact that it looks like they havent spent a nickle in the place since it opened, and it smelled like a$$. They never announced the prize payout amounts until VERY late in the event. Much later than they should have IMO. Even after people asked, they still didn't announce it. Lots of regulars that were allowed to enter the tourney well after it started. Probably nothing shady going on, but it sure makes you think there is.
