Re: Has anyone won less with better?
I'd bet that someone has lost money with a royal flush against a low in a high-low split game. The rake can exceed the blinds/antes.

Re: Has anyone won less with better?
Well, lowball or razz games don't count...since those are not "good" hands by the rules.
I don't like even including hi-lo games. You could try to checkraise from UTG with a straight-flush in a jacks or better game and have nobody open behind you. That would be a nice kick in the balls. A home game with a bunch of wild cards can lead to a big split pot or a big loss on something like 5 kings. How about one of those poker variants where you make two hands and set it up so you have a royal in bottom and something like 8-7 in the top. Push. (I don't know how to play any of those games, so I'm just making [censored] up here.) |
