A thousand up - RIP Simon Diamond
I have no idea how I have managed to reach four figures, but I have. I can only thank the many people who I greatly admire and respect here, including Granny Mae, Lorinda, Mike Haven, jek187, duxDeluxe and numerous others. Also a big thanks to all those that have made King of the Zoo what it is, a great tournament and an honour to host.
Now, I decided that my 1,000th post would mark the end of the user name Simon Diamond. The thread about usernames just the other day was the final nail in the coffin - I just cannot get along with the name anymore and need something a little more comfortable. I will see out the King of the Zoo series on Poker Stars with the name, but it will cease to exist on this board when I come up with the new name. Public announcement over, sorry for any inconvenience that it may have been caused. Simon SD RIP 09/18/02 - 10/31/03 |

Yes - I know what you mean.
"Simon" does sound a bit wet, doesn't it? |

Please tell me, where does 'cheeky' come from? Just curious.

No idea, but I know my daughter is the perfect example of 'cheeky' - she is always up to all kinds of mischief.

Re: A thousand up - RIP Simon Diamond
cheeky monkey, chikky munky adj An insult directed towards someone who is rude, annoying, or has just insulted you.
In the USA, chikky-munky refers to the imaginary animals (chikky-munkys)that live in the land of chikky (also imaginary)in changa-manga. it is used as an insult and is not specific to race religion or sex. Used as "Oh my god Eyrn is such a chikky-munky i hate her she's such a prep!" circa. 1950's onwards (2002 in Texas, USA) UK, USA cheeky-sweat n. A reprimand, e.g. if someone grabbed half the bag of crisps when offered one, you would shout "get off, yer cheeky sweat!!!". Came into popular use around 80/81 when contributor was in second year juniors. It lasted the test of time as well, seeing as it was used well into high school and compared favorably with the words and phrases learnt later on. UK (NW) git n. 1) An excessively stupid or unpleasant person. 2) term of abuse misinterpreted at West Lodge Middle School, Pinner, Middlesex in late- '70s, where rumour circulated that it was the proper scientific term for "a pregnant camel". Hence common playground dialogue: "You git!". "Feck off, I am not a pregnant camel" (ed: strangely enough I grew up under the impression a 'git' was the child of an Irish prostitute. We 'learn' such odd stuff when we are kids!) c.f. get UK http://www.odps.cyberscriber.com/ * * * * I'd be offended, but then, we all know Simon is a mardy minter. |

Re: A thousand up - RIP Simon Diamond
Yes Jason. That is the Premier League trophy for the snooker league I play in with my brother and a few of the lads in Redditch. I've been playing crap since I won it though - typical really
