Default Bet the flop?

These situations seem to come up alot out of the blinds.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG+2 posts a blind of $0.50. CO posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 (poster) checks, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO (poster) checks, Button folds, SB folds, Hero checks.

Flop: (6.50 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(6 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls.

Turn: (6.25 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(6 players)</font>
Hero checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 checks, MP2 checks, MP3 checks, CO checks.

If I hit top pair from the BB in an unraised pot, I almost always come out firing.
