Default Borgata/AC this week -- anyone else gonna be there?

I'll be staying at Borgata 8/24 (wednesday) thru 8/28 (sunday), playing 6/12 & 1/2 most of the time in the Borg poker room to clear the poker rate hours. As always, I'll have a brown trout card protector in front of my stack.

I always say I'm going to get over to the Trop when I go to AC (I've played Taj but hate it, and the quasi death of their 5/10 full kill O/8 game further makes me not want to go), but I never do. Maybe this time will be the time I go. Same for Caesars & Showboat, but these seem even more doubtful than Trop.

Anyone else going to be up there this week/weekend? I'm up for a 2/4 donkfest at some point if one gets together, or something like HORSE at one of the smaller rooms if folks think the floor can be convinced to spread it. Also, I'm interested in finding a limit hold'em tourney if I can... but realize these are pretty much a dying breed these days. Any recommendations (I know Borgata's events are all NL, so I suppose Trop/Taj are the only possibilities)?

Shoot me a "sup bro" if you're in the area.

I don't think you could convince the floor at one of the smaller rooms to spread it. They have enough trouble dealing one game as it is at some of the new places, HORSE would cause them too much confusion (I know each dealer would deal a different game, but some of them have never dealt stud high low before for instance).

Point taken -- seems clear to me the larger rooms would never spread a non-standard game like HORSE (though I have seen 40/80 HOE on Borgata's board before, and I know Taj has the two way game), which is why I mentioned the smaller rooms. Just a thought... shame the AC card rooms can't quite be as flexible and accomodating as the MGM Grand. Sigh.

What makes you believe the larger rooms won't accomodate? I'm positive I've seen HORSE (in addition to HOE) on the Borg's boards. I think its mostly that they can't get enough players to open/keep the games going. If you show up with a large enough group there shouldn't be a problem. Remember a group of 2+2'ers already convinced the Borg to spread 1-5 stud8.

I will be there Saturday and Sunday... though most likely playing at the Trop since that's where I'll be staying. Although I haven't even seen the Borgata yet, so I guess I'd be cheating myself if I didn't check it out this time. How close are the Borgata and the Trop? I suppose I can always take a cab late at night.

I'm looking to buy-in to some NLH tourney this weekend. If you're interested and/or know of which casinos have the best ones, let me know.

I shall shoot you a "sup bro" if I see the brown trout. Look for either a silver clapboard or silver movie camera (both pieces from the board game SceneIt) and drop a line.

having tried to get that game started - they'll spread any game (or mix of games at the same limit) that they have table plaques for....which means no HORSE below 10-20.

I know everyone likes to crap on the Taj, but for an easily beatable game, its 5/10 O8B is the ticket. Also, having sat in the 10/20 mixed game (1/2 O8B, 1/2 Stud 8B) yesterday, I believe it is beatable as well. (I won only 13 bucks in 5 hours, but went card dead in O8B for several hours.)

I have no experience with the other venues (aside from Borgata) but my guess is there'll be no chance of starting a HORSE (or ANY mixed game) table at the smaller rooms. As with the Borgata, unless you're talking 25/50 or higher, it's Hold 'Em or death, I think.

I'll be there from Thursday night til Sunday morning. Probably mostly 40/80, and I'll most likely take a shot at the 80 game at some point if I'm running well. Are any 2+2ers regulars in the 40 game? Jeffage plays a lot in it, right?

I have quite a few friends coming with me that will be in the 6/12ish range though.
