Default 33 on the button with three left $20+2

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (3 handed)

SmileyEH (t2410)
SB (t4040)
BB (t1550)

Preflop: SmileyEH is Button with 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
SmileyEH raises to t500, SB folds, BB calls t300.

Flop: (t1100) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, SmileyEH checks.

Turn: (t1100) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, SmileyEH bets t1910 (All-In)

First Question: Is this an automatic raise preflop, or a fold? If a raise is this (2.5xBB) a good amount?

Second: I'm fairly happy with my flop check, but should I check behind on the turn and hope to get to showdown, or is the push mandatory? My opponent was fairly straightfoward. Any and all comments welcome.

I am curious as to why you think that you need to over bet the pot here. I would think that you can only get called by a hand that beats you. Could you explain your thought process here

I only effectively bet the pot because the BB had 1000 chips left.
I figured that the BB didn't have a king therefore my hand was probably best (I doubted he would call a PF raise with a 4 in hand). Any bet I would make would effectively pot commit me because of the size of my opponents stack (I couldn't stomach folding getting 5-1 from the pot had I bet 500).

That was my thinking, but as you can probably guess I am not very confident in it.

I think you need to bet on the flop to get a better idea of where you are at in the hand.

At this point in the tounrie and against a small stack I reccomend betting when the other player checks. Even a small bet is likely to win the pot unless the other player has a hand he is willing to go all-in with.
