What's his agression numbers. I don't think he has a set here, so you're really only worried about AA. Have you been checkraising a lot? If not, I think AQ is out of the picture and you are probably splittin at best (but might need to call anyway due to pot odds).

99 and 88 as well as AA are within the raising range of the top 7% of hands...

I haven't been checkraising much at this table, I put him on a big hand preflop but I didn't think he would play 99/88 this way.

I thought he was 13/3 for some reason. Never mind.

Easy fold I think.

I think you're asking why I didn't put him on 99/88. Well, I wasn't 100% sure, but because there was a limper, I thought this player would be more likely to limp with his mid pps to go for set value. His raise indicated to me high cards that he wants to thin the field with. Again, just a hunch, not an ironclad read.

reason for flop minraise?

I think you have to fold turn. many take this line (flop minraise, 2/3 on the turn) with a set and he's indicating that he isn't afraid of a set.

Well, based on what I thought this player had (partially explained in my reply to zeebo) I thought he had a big ace or a high pair. I bet into him in order to not give a free card which if a K/Q/J/T could possibly hit one of his few outs. I also considered AA which is the only hand I thought beat me. His raise all-in was too strong I thought for AA, so I called.

He had AQ and MHIG.
