Default 2-4 at the Taj on Last Night

My table gets broke and I go sit at a new table. First hand, I am dealt
A [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] in MP. UTG+1 raises, I three-bet, LP cold calls, then the button caps. SB calls, BB folds, everyone elses plays. 5 see the flop
K [img]/forums/images/icons/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/forums/images/icons/spade.gif[/img]
UTG+1 bets, I raise, LP cold calls again, Button and SB fold, UTG+1 calls.
Turn comes 9 [img]/forums/images/icons/diamond.gif[/img] giving me kings full.
Checked to me, I bet then LP raises. UTG+1 folds while I sit in shock. I put him on a 9 for Nines full, I reraise, he says "oh, no" then calls.
River falls A [img]/forums/images/icons/heart.gif[/img] giving me Kings full of aces. I bet, LP calls.

What did he hold? Results to follow.

He shows pocket Aces for aces full to beat my kings full. My jaw hits the table as he scoops my pot. I get up and go home before I tilt and do something really stupid. Tell me why I shouldn't hate this game.

The SOB caught a 1-outer on the river to give me my first honest to gosh Bad Beat story.

I have gone over the hand hundreds of times in the past 24 hours and I still haven't figured why he did anything on the hand. Nothing he did made sense. On my way to the cage, I asked him why he played the hand the way he did and he said, and I quote, "Why not?"

Another post where people are afraid to raise with a full house. Tee hee!

Seriouisly, his answer to your question, "Why not?", shows his thought process during a hand. Actually, it seems he has very few thoughts at all. Good player to be up against, if you aren't on tilt.

I would chalk this hand up to destiny. The best you can do is walk away and say "nice hand sir". At this limit, almost no one will fold AA. They will go to the ends of the earth with it! The board could be 4 flush, and they would still call w/o the A of that suit.

I also hate to say it, but preflop, you were way behind. You just hit your perfect flop and ran into the mother of all calling stations! Just be thankful he didn't pop you on the river.

In the long run, his "why not" comment is a sign that you want this guy in your game for years to come. In the end, he will become your personal ATM .

Heh. He only played every street wrong.

You played it fine...nothing you could have done differently.
