87o blind steal gone horribly wrong - nothing I could do?

Is there any other move on this flop? Don't think so but I haven't played for awhile, pretty rusty.

If the table has been stupidly tight as you said, then you're probably being called by a huge hand. I'd most likely check and fold to a bet on the turn.

Another alternative is a bet of about half or a little less than half the pot (250-300). If he calls or raises, you can still shut it down with over 5 BB left.

definte stupid tight. With anything but aces, you'd think they'd have re-raised you all in. Same thing for an overpair. I don't like betting 1/2 pot because that basically pot comits our hero and gives overcards decent odds to draw. The BB certainly has the chips to draw.

Given the chip variations and two players out with 50/100 blinds, I don't see how the table is that tight. Most of these SNGs are very loose early on and players tend to automatically call in the blinds to late position raises. Therefore, I don't like the raise with complete junk.

I don't have any problem with the push on the flop.

3 to 1 odds is not decent enough odds for a 6 out overcard draw when there are barely any implied odds.

If the table has been that tight, then the PF steal seems like a good play (even though you didn't want it debated I agree with this play on a really tight table).

On the flop since you got called on a really tight table I would imagine that you are way behind. I would just check the flop and hope I get a really good card on the turn. If the turn doesn't improve my hand I let this go.

It is a steal attempt, not a monster hand IMO. You tried and got caught. Let the hand go without risking any more chips.

You still have 8x the BB. Since the table is tight you should be able to steal your way back into contention.

don't feel like you always have to bet the pot on the flop against a weak tight...

lots of players will fold just as many hands to a 300 chip bet there as they would an all in.

in this situation, i don't think the smaller bet accomplishes much, since you're commited if he check raises. (535 to win 1785, you have to play even if you're pretty sure he has a jack). still its something to keep in mind.
