Derby Lane in St. Pete, FL

Has anyone here visited Derby Lane for their daily $45 120 person tournaments?

I've been meaning to make it up there for a few months now with some friends. A few weeks ago, we finally nailed down a day, were all ready to go....then I checked their website the night before, and it turns out that the particular day we had decided to go was their first annual pre-thanksgiving "sign up weeks in advance or you're out of luck" tournament, so we got shafted. Thank god I found out before we drove an hour and a half.

Anyways, I digress. Just wanted to know if anyone has played in their daily tournament, what the competition is like, how the facility is, anything I might need to know, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

for the lazy.. can anyone give me directions from Hard Rock's horrible 2-2 (off I-4) to dery lane... how long is that trip?
