Re: Best Tunica Pokerroom?
Depends. Just a personal observation, but it seems folks who live in the south are pleased with ANY place they play in Tunica. Heck, they used to have one poker table in Bally's, and it was always full of gamboolers in that low limit game. And you can't "pull" some folks away from Sam's Town. That's "their joint". Anyway, Harrah's now owns Horseshoe and Grand. Then there is the Goldstrike for really crazy no-limit games.

Re: Best Tunica Pokerroom?
Most on this forum will tell you Horseshoe.
Geez....why haven't we covered this topic before? Seemed like it would have been a REALLY good idea. (that's my sarcastic way of saying that if you use the search function and type in 'tunica' you will get all the info you need) |

Re: Best Tunica Pokerroom?
I would say that the palyers that prefer rooms other than the Horsehoe are there for somethign other than poker. At low limits you will sometimes find daily players that only play becaue it is the only way to get these other peopel to sit around a table with them. Many of these palyers would be happy not having to risk any money an dstill being able to be in a casino (this isn't just Tunica this happens in many markets). These players don't mind and sometimes prefer that the dealers be slow and chit chat with the players.

Horseshoe and it ain't even close. [/ QUOTE ] It's a beautiful room and the comps and staff are great. The unremodeled Gold Strike poker room is too ugly for me to even want to play there for very long. I like the Grand's room and Sam's Town is ok, but also could use a remodel. |

Are there any changes now that Harrah's has taken over. Harrah's typically doesn't do much for poker players.

I would say that the palyers that prefer rooms other than the Horsehoe are there for somethign other than poker. [/ QUOTE ] Probably true. I really enjoy the Horseshoe/GS area, but its seems I end up at Sam's alot. The main reason being getting the poker room rate. Usually when I head to Tunica, I only know a week in advance. By that time, poker rate is hard to come by and I can usually get it at Sam's....maybe thast says something about their room, but they do have two large hotels. The other reason is the buddy that goes with me plays BJ. For some reason he prefers BJ at Sam's over the Horseshoe, even though from my observations, the HS has some of the best BJ in Tunica too....beats me, he "feels" luckier at Sam's Town. Sam's is fine. Most of the dealers are adequate and knowledgable about the game....but the OP asked about the BEST in Tunica and that is, without a doubt, Horseshoe |

Re: Best Tunica Pokerroom?
I like the GoldStrike but that is just me. I think the dealers are real friendly and the staff is great. I also like the isolation from the rest of the casino.
I have yet to play at the Shoe but the 5/10 game there is my next target. |
