Re: I Guess We Should Expect Nothing Better From A Kennedy
I sometimes wonder if the people who blame Bush for these things actually realize how disgusting their opinions are.

Re: I Guess We Should Expect Nothing Better From A Kennedy
Easily one of the most asinine things I've read in a while. It's along the same lines as saying the US deserved 9/11.
And yes...we should expect better from a Kennedy...RFK Jr.'s father and uncle(not the one still alive) would never had said such classless things, even if they believed them to be true. |

I sometimes wonder if the people who blame Bush for these things actually realize how disgusting their opinions are. [/ QUOTE ] Blaming the Bush Administration for this hurricane is a little silly, of course. But do any of you deny the Bush flip-flop over CO2, and the complete marginalization of both the reality of global warming, and environmental moderates like Whiman and O'Neil? The consequences of this will be real, if the majority of scientists are to be believed. I suppose the focus on the tile and the conclusion of the piece let you completely ignore the point it raised. And if science says the US failure to rein in fossil fuels or more actively research alternatives is helping to very gradually make hurricanes stronger, then if we take no action, well, we were warned. |

But the idea that the Kyoto Protocal, which was, I believe, unanimously opposed by the senate, would have prevented this hurricane seems ludicrous to me. Shame on RFK Jr, for politicizing this tragedy. |

Re: I Guess We Should Expect Nothing Better From A Kennedy
Bush has done more to control global warming than any other president. Probably more than any world leader. Kyoto is a feel-good solution that will achieve exactly nothing. You may not remember, since it was so totally ignored by the media, but Bush actually engineered a more effective treaty with some of the other major CO2 producers to work towards the technological and structural economic changes needed to actually do something about global warming.
