Default PP NL $600

Middle position with AA
I've got about $400 left
Villian has $700...no reads but seems a bit loose.

Get dealt AA...all folds to me. I raise to $26.

Villian on the button calls, so does the BB.

Flop comes 8H/9C/3S rainbow.

I bet a little over the pot...

Villian takes a bit then calls. BB folds

Turn is a 4H.

I push(terrible move?)...the pots now about what I have left in my stack

Villian calls

River is a 4.

Villian has a boat-4's full of threes.

How badly did I play this? Needless to say I would have prefered losing to 8/9 lol.

I was new to the table so I'm not sure if watching more I'de have put the Villian on 3/4. Figured J/10 or maybe A9,A8 etc or he put me on ak,aq and was calling with his 8 or 9.

Should I have checked the turn or just bet less than my whole stack? I didn't think he had a set but maybe I should have by his call of the pot bet on the flop.

Once you overbet that flop it really gives away your hand as an overpair, if he's going to "think about it" and call, I would be very scared on the turn, and definitely wouldn't push to scare away the slim draws that are out there.

I mistated the whole..should i have thought he had a set thing.

He had 3/4 pre flop.

I meant to say maybe I should have slowed down seeing that he called a pot size bet on the flop(seeing that that may mean he hit a set).

I kinda thought it was just really crappy luck.

I never put him on 3/4...the only hands I was really worried about were 8/9,10/j, maybe 6/7 and a set.

If you had bet the pot on the turn and he calls, it is time to think. When the board paired the fours you could have checked and played from there.
As bad as you played he played even worse. you just got unlucky but that's poker. How do you call a pot sized bet with a bottom pair.

betting the pot on the turn was the same as pushing.
