Default SIAP - Vegas on New Years?

I've been thinking about going up with my girlfriend for New Years, and I wanted a little info from the regulars here. I know it will be crazy, but what can I expect in terms of poker (FWIW, I usually play between 6-12 and 10-20)? Are the clubs impossible to get into? Can we have a good time just hanging out at midnight, or should we have some kind of specific activity planned? We're young, college students, but we're not retards and we like to have a somewhat sophisticated (if rather drunken) good time.

Thanks in advance for the info.

The poker rooms, like all of Vegas, will be packed.

If you don't do something big at midnight, there's always the option of watching the big fireworks display that goes off from about 8-10 Strip hotels.

You don't really need to get into a club, but that is always fun. We got drunk on the strip and watched the fireworks at midnight, then went to a club.
