looking for small buy-in tournies in Vegas...
I'm headed to Vegas next month and I'd love to know where I can play in some smaller buy-in tournaments. By small I mean $50 or even less if they exist. Am I out of luck? Also, where can I find the smaller lower limit NL ring games? Thanks in advance.

I played in the Sahara tourney. It starts at 7pm. It was great and only about 60 bucks with the add on.
On a side note, David Williams' mom was at my table. |

Go to your local poker room...get the latest copy of cardplayer magazine. there is a section that shows all the daily tournaments.

Re: looking for small buy-in tournies in Vegas...
Mandalay has a $30 tourneyment at 10am every morning -- limited to 30 players. It fills every day, so get there early.
Kind of strange structure -- limit for the first hour, NL after that. |

The Cannery has a $25 no re-buy 10am Saturday and Sunday.
Poker Palace has a $20 one re-buy one add-on 6pm Saturday through Wednesday. |

Re: looking for small buy-in tournies in Vegas...
MGM has a $65 freezeout Monday-Friday at 11am. Aladdin has 2 tourneys: I believe 10am and 1pm. Both are under $50. (Photo, Al Capone, help me out here...) I like the 1pm tournament: better structure. Stay away from Luxor, Orleans, Mandalay... Structures suck! (Limit first hour at Mandalay and Luxor, and the Orleans is a crazy rebuy tourney). Hope this helps.

Here's another site which seems to have real good information on this topic and easier to see all in one place than allvegaspoker.com.

Re: looking for small buy-in tournies in Vegas...
The sahara tournament is my personal favorite, you get 3,500 chips for 62 bucks , 2k to starts and another 1500 with the add on, most chips you'll get anywhere in Vegas. Although it does become a craps shoot after the 2nd break i've consistently been able to make the final 2-3 tables 80% of the time. So the competition is pretty weak.
