Default Live Tourney Question.....Is this collusion?

I was playing in the Taj 50+15 MTT last monday. Early in the tourney, a guy was all in vs two medium sized stacks. One 'WPT kid' with the sunglasses and ipod, bets the flop, and the other person in the pot folds. I realize then that alot of players in the tourney don't know about 'checking it down' when another player is all in to maximize the chances of eliminating him. So, when similar situations arose later in the tourney, i would ask the 3rd guy in if he wanted to 'check it down' vs the all in player. It was never questioned if it was allowed, but for future reference, are you allowed to agree verbally with another player at the table to do this when a guy is all in?

early in a tournament, checking it down isn't really beneficial. A third player might bet out at a dry side pot w/ Ace high if he feels that it has a shot at being better than the all in player, but wants to protect it vs. the live player. Knocking players out early doesn't really change much in terms of EV. That's usually a bubble or later play.

You are not allowed to verbally ask someone to check it down. You can however, make it pretty obvious that your intentions are to check all the way (checking in the dark if first to act, acting quickly while not looking at the flop, etc..)

your first mistake was playing in a 50+15. 30% rake?
