Ok, so it's near the end of the semester and I want to pull the trigger on this and take a gamble by asking her out. I felt it would be a little more frowned upon during the semester risk-wise (for her), plus I could never make it to her office hours (work) and not able to talk to her in private after discussion.

I asked if we could meet up before the final to go over one of the films, and she said email her and we can make arrangements from there (I'd much rather do it face-to-face but that's how it goes). Do you think it'd be better to ask her out if we can meet up before the final, or after the final? If I ask her out and get turned down before, I don't think it will affect my grade or anything; she is always very complimentative of all my papers and tests. If I do it after the final, the dating students policy (I guess that's more of an unwritten policy) wouldn't be applicable.

Only things I know about her is that she's a grad student, from India, and wrote some articles about Chennai.
